Cozy Gaming with a Purrfect Atmosphere: Little Kitty Big City
As a casual gamer, I learned that as much as I want to play the big games like Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Bros. Wonder, I don’t have the focus to play those long games for long periods of time, and completely them within a month. Trust me, we’re 4 years in and I still haven’t finished Breath of the Wild. I have found that I love games like Animal Crossing New Horizons which make you turn the game off after you complete daily tasks, or Cats Organized Neatly, where I can complete a couple of puzzles and be done for the day.
While I planned to finish a couple of games during the holiday break, my fiancé had other plans for me. He got me two short games to play while we were on holiday. One of those was Little Kitty Big City, and it was such an adorable ride to play. Let me dive into my experience of cuddling up into the couch with my switch playing this game.
Quick Synopsis
Little Kitty Big City follows an indoor cat that accidentally finds themselves falling off their owner’s apartment window into the Big City they live in. Your mission is to explore, complete mini-quests, and collect shinies for a crow, all to gain fish that upgrades your stamina. Obtain enough stamina to find your way back up your apartment building to your owner. Just a lot of purfect schenanigans cats get themselves into.
My Thoughts
Little Kitty Big City is just a little joy to play and is the perfect cozy game for all. The game’s simplicity and cozy atmosphere draws you in for a nice short burst of fun. With simple graphics that allow the game to be played on any system. The tasks are simple, but not so simple that you don’t feel rewarded. You get to be a cat and snatch a fish from a fisherman for an example. And I couldn’t help but giggle after my fifth attempt and I managed to slip away without hitting water, because we all know, cats don’t like water!
The game took me 5 hours total to get the cat back to the apartment, however, there’s still so much I can do after that. The game offers a bunch more exploration and scavenging for collectibles for those who love to complete a game at 100 percent.
The characters themselves are also a charming touch. Your cat meets up with a cozy bundle of creatures who inhabit this big city your owner calls home. From a Crow who helps guide the player through the beginning of the game, a father duck taking his kids of a little field trip, to a Tanuki who makes portals out of the sewer system. No, I didn’t make that last part up. And don’t worry, no animals were harmed in the making of these portals.
Conclusion
Little Kitty Big City is the perfect cozy game to add to your comfy gaming list. The game is available on Steam, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch!
This is the first time writing a gaming review—wanted to try different things for this little grove on the internet I call my blog. Let me know how I did in the comments or if you played the game as well! See ya guys later!
