Frequently Asked Questions
What’s your artist history? Where did you get started?
Oh god, I feel old thinking about it. But, before I even thought of it as a career avenue, I always loved art. I favorite classes were art classes in elementary and middle school. I decided to pursue the artist career avenue in highschool in the early 2010s. I took more art classes and got my hands on an old Samsung tablet using Sketchbook Pro. I got accepted to College of Saint Rose as a Studio Art major originally. But, as the first semester rolled by, I started to see more of what the design students were doing, thinking it looked really cool. So I added a Graphic Design minor to maybe flip the two without taking an extra year. That was a smart move, I switched the two towards the beginning of Sophomore year. But, I still filled my extra time with some painting courses, drawing trips abroad. I was essentially making an illustrator major in a way for myself, but also giving myself a chance for a full-time job as a graphic designer to bring in the income. As time went on and I graduated, I mostly self-taught myself to hone my style and here we are!
What do you use for digital art?
I use Procreate on an iPad Pro 12.9 6th Gen for all my illustrations. My old Wacom Cintiq tablet has been lying dormant in my closet since COVID. I switched from Photoshop to Procreate exclusively for illustration because fewer wires sounded great when we were in a pandemic working from home on a small desk.
What brushes do you use?
I use a lot of brushes from Maxpacks by Max Ulichney. I mainly have been using some of the Gouache brushes, Tech pen for Lineart, and Watercolor wash mop grainy brush for a little extra texture.
Can you name some of your inspirations?
Definitely Studio Ghibli, but that seems like the go-to answer for a lot of us. Lofi Girl aesthetic with their music is another inspiration that got me wanting to do more cozy artwork, along with Simone Grünewald, Loish, and recently Kanehito Yamada and their manga series Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
What got you into making more cozy artwork?
Can I say being a millennial experiencing world-changing events every couple of months ever since she was born? But in all honestly, that’s part of it, but I did start wanting to be more of an action fantasy kind of artist. But I didn’t get much of the bug when I got more practice in. Towards the end of 2023, I was starting to lose interest in the fighting action poses I was trying to do in my fan art. Plus, I wanted to get better at world-building scenes, so I started to make more elaborate pieces. It just so happened that as I was making these scenes, I wanted to give myself a little therapy from it all and make them calm and cozy. Then, it just stuck ever since.
P.S. I still do some action stuff, mostly quick DnD doodles for my current character build.
How are your prints made?
All my pieces are brought into Photoshop to be printed on a Canon Pixima iP8720 printer, using their Premium Matte Photo Paper. Each print is hand cut and packaged in cellophane bags. Larger prints also have chipboard behind them for more durability during transit.
Please note: Colors may vary from screen to screen depending on your monitor’s settings. The prints themselves do reflect their true colors from Procreate to print.
How does your shipping work?
Please allow at least 2 weeks for me to fulfill print orders. This allows me ample time to process your order with the utmost care while working around a full-time work schedule. Please also be mindful of the timing when your order.
All orders will have tracking
Prints will be shipped in rigid flat mailers. Some will be chipboard added for extra durability.
If you order stickers along with a print, those will be shipped together in the same packaging. Saves materials!
Are you going to offer international shipping?
At the moment, no. I’ll be starting small in the beginning and focusing on the US. But, I hope to open up international sales once I get the hang of the rules and regulations surrounding E-Commerce in the US. I’ll update my site accordingly and send updates regarding this via my newsletter.
Do you offer commissions?
Yes! I will be offering commission slots throughout the year. Please check out my commissions page for availability.
